The "C" in the model code is for the Western red cedar soundboard. This wood is used for the tops of fine classical guitars as its light weight and transparency responds quickly even with low string tension. Those characteristics make cedar an excellent wood for the soundboard of a ukulele, and it's warm honey-brown color blends well with the figured Hawaiian koa of the back and sides.
