Tony Graziano is based in Santa Cruz, California and he builds some of the nicest ukuleles we’ve carry. But even by his high standards, this custom tenor is something special. Its shape is inspired by the Selmer guitars made in France in the 1930s and 1940s that the great jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt played. Like those guitars, this is a sweet sounding instrument, with a clear, balanced tone and plenty of volume.and it makes you wonder what Gypsy jazz would have sounded like if Django had retired in Hawaii and taken up the ukulele. This model features figured koa in the back and sides and an Engelmann spruce top.
