Collings likes to use the term "baked top" to describe a torrified spruce soundboard. Other companies use different terms for the same process, such as "Aged Tone" or "Vintage Tone". This Waterloo really does sound a bit more like an old Kalamazoo-made model from the 1930s, at least to our ears. This version is X braced, and has a truss rod in the neck.
