Gryphon ordered a batch of six custom instruments from Taylor in the Fall of 2018 and hand selected the wood for each instrument at the Taylor factory. This instrument was largely designed by the shop's own Alex Jordan who liked the idea of a torrified stika spruce top with adirondack bracing as well as the solid peghead instead of the more typical slotted peghead featured on 12-fret Taylor guitars. "I wanted to build a guitar with a classic look to it and a tone to match."
