Gryphon ordered a batch of six custom instruments from Taylor in the Fall of 2018 and hand selected the wood for each instrument at the Taylor factory. This instrument was largely designed by the shop's own Alex Jordan who was looking for a 12-String guitar that was easy to play but had a full sound, inspired by seeing Slack Key players in Hawaii playing on 12-strings. "it needed to look sharp without being ornate and sound clear without sounding thin. Mission accomplished."
