This has "Made in West Germany" inscriptions in four places, so you know it's not a Soviet Bloc mandolin, no sir (the paper label inside states "Built in the Heart of Bavaria"). It's easy to play and has a nice archtop mandolin tone, so step out of the Gibson rut and show a little mid-century European class at the next jam session. And remember that Ira Louvin played a Framus mandolin for a while (but not this model). The mandolin fad never really faded in Europe the way it did in North America, this Framus was both well-made and built to last. Check out the tailpiece!
