This Jerry Jones Baby Sitar was inspired by the Danelectro Electric Sitar, a scarce model that was originally produced around 1968. Like the original guitar, the Baby Sitar has the distinctive buzzing twang compliments of the proprietary Sitarmatic bridge. The pickup is a Jerry Jones-built lipstick tube model and the gourd-shaped body has an off-white finish with an alligator-skin texture. When this guitar was introduced in 1968, it was heralded as the “new hero of the recording scene” that produced “today’s IN sound.” The Baby Sitar, or any electric sitar for the matter, hasn’t been involved in making an IN sound for decades, but they do sound very cool. This particular Baby Sitar is in excellent condition with just few minor signs of having been played. The frets are in great shape and have lots of life left in them. Includes a padded gig bag.
