Despite the name "Minstrel" this is a bluegrass 5-string, with thick shell and cast flathead tone ring. Despite its age it hasn't seen much use, as indicated by photos 10 and 11 of the (lack of) fret wear. We thought of having a contest to guess the figure on the truss rod cover (photo 8). Most folks feel it's a sea horse, but what sea horses have to do with a bluegrass banjo called a "minstrel" is anybody's guess.
