This is the much anticipated Maple Ridge model from the Canadian builder Rickard. This is a contemporary take on a popular late nineteenth century style of construction. It has the thin 12 inch ebonized shell with the Dobson tone ring. This gives it a 'thick' sound very different from a snappy 11 inch shell with a heavy rim. The neck is also a retro 'boat heel' design with a lot of heft to it. The peg head is the paddle style and the fittings are all antique brass including the tuning machines. Overall it has the look and feel of something from the 1870's.
