This is Ome's maple version of their popular 12 inch open-back line. The dense maple neck and large head combine to deliver a strong clear tone, but the scooped fingerboard allows you to play away from the bridge for more mellow tone. This is not a "plunky" sounding instrument when you move your right hand closer to bridge, it's loud and would make a great string band banjo that you don't have to flog to be heard. The antiqued brass hardware gives it a beautiful look and the wooden armrest is more comfy than the typical cold metal armrest or tension hoop. Price includes a hard shell case.
