It's obvious Collings had those legendary Martin OM-18 models from 1932/'33 in their sights when they designed an OM1 Traditional Series like this one, and it doesn't take much playing time to tell you that the Collings crew nailed it. Maybe it's the torrefied top (Collings calls it "baked"), and for visuals you can credit the artfully shaded finish on that top. Regardless of what or who deserves the credit, this example from 2018 has it all. There's a little tiny bit of wear to the frets and almost no signs of wear at all to the finish, and the only change is the addition of a K & K (passive) pickup with an endpin output jack. Comes with the Collings-made Traditional case, which Collings no longer includes with any new models (currently the only way to get these cases is to buy them, for $995, ouch!)
