Chatsworth guitars are made in...Chatsworth, California, by one guy, Tom Burton. Burton makes a wide variety of guitars, he's essentially a custom shop and this is pretty close to the top of what he offers (unless you include some over-the-top projects, like a 13-string model). The quality of both the materials and workmanship is top notch, and with Lollar pickups the sound is every bit the equal of the visuals. This shape and style is more traditional than most of the models Tom offers, and if Leo Fender had been more into natural wood finishes instead of painted colors one could imagine Fender offering a Stringmaster much like this back in the heyday of the lap steel. It's in essentially perfect condition although you can probably find some signs of handling if you look really closely.
