Is this a Martin 5-18? Well, yes and no. It's certainly not quite like the 5-18 models that Martin made from the late 1940s through to recent years, instead think "5-18" but in the Vintage Series, as this has an ebony fingerboard and bridge, scalloped top bracing, faux tortoiseshell binding and pickguard, etc. In other words, Martin's Custom Shop reached back to the early 1940s specs, so it both looks and sounds more impressive than a typical recent 5-18, especially the bass response. With its easy under-21.5 inch string scale and baritone ukulele size, this is the handiest Martin guitar of all (and for you history buffs Marty Robbins played one). In nearly perfect condition with original black TKL case, Martin badge on the side.
