This is a used Collings, but just barely. It's only been played for a few months and looks brand new (the original owner overestimated his ability to adapt to a wider neck and string spacing).

The Collings Pete Huttlinger Signature OM1 is the second limited edition to bear that name. Like the first Pete Huttlinger model, this special version of the OM1 is made from Honduran mahogany and a choice of Sitka or Adirondack spruce for the top, and this is an Adirondack spruce version. This combination gives the guitar a balanced tone with plenty of clarity in the bass and strong mids and trebles. This second limited edition differs from the first in its ornamentation. Pete was an avid fisherman so this guitar features three custom fretboard inlays that honor his love of the sport.

Most of us knew Pete Huttlinger as an amazing fingerstyle guitarist, but unfortunately he was born with a congenital heart defect, a condition that led to his early death in 2016. After suffering a stroke in 2010 he created a program called “Don’t Just Live, Live Well” that presented a positive way to deal with life’s setbacks. The idea for this special Collings came from Pete’s cardiologist, Dr. Frank Fish. “Time and time again, Pete displayed a lust for living,” comments Dr. Fish. “He lived far beyond his expected limitations rather than letting himself be defined by them.”
