Wenge is a heavy and dense wood from Africa, sometimes called African Rosewood. It's often used for fingerboards because it wears so well, but when used for the back and sides of a Dreadnought like this D2 it delivers typical rosewood bass tones but with plenty of trebles to balance the tone of full chords. This is a custom D2, rather then herringbone around the top it has a subtle rope pattern of purfling. It also has a bound fingerboard and dots on the fingerboard (rather then the slotted diamonds you see on a stock D2H). A great sounding Collings D, very few signs of use and those are so tiny as to be forgettable. Super clean case as well.
