A super clean banjo from a small-production solo builder. Mike Ramsey has been building banjos for decades and it shows in the way this curly maple example hangs together structurally and aesthetically. As far as we can tell what makes this a "student" version is the lack of inlays, for the neck and shell construction seems identical to Ramsey's higher Chanterelle models. The extended frailing scoop gives you plenty of room to get a mellow tone, fifth string spikes already installed at frets 7, 9, and 10. Comes with a nice gig bag.
