This flametop Les Paul Standard from 2012 has clearly benefitted from all Gibson has learned about making reissues of its famed 1959/'60 models. This has the right sunburst, the right knobs, correct headstock shape and pearloid neck inlays, everything is there. Fortunately, however, it's not an "exact" resissue and so has old-style Grover Rotomatics instead of Kluson tuners, for instance, and it's missing a few other fine detail tweaks, like the pickguard, that Gibson uses to justify far higher prices for their "R9" reissue. You win, as you get a great Les Paul at a very reasonable price. This has a few minor nicks and very light dings, most to the top where a pickguard would be. And by the way, adding the classic Les Paul cream-colored pickguard doesn't cost much.
