Doesn't sound like Doc Watson when I play it, but I'm guessing that's not the fault of the guitar..... This has been played a fair amount, but carefully, and except for a couple of small dings only the pickguard shows some light scuffs from picks or fingers. All original, no cracks, no sign of repairs, the only change is the addition of a strap button to the neck heel in the usual location. As with most current steel string guitarmakers, Gallagher finishes the neck and body separately, then puts the neck on the body. There's a bit of a gap between the neck heel and treble side (see photo 29) but the side of the neck heel the player sees (photo 28) fits perfectly. The neck is very tight in the joint! No worries, but thought we should mention it. Despite the lame joke above, this a great-sounding mahogany D with lots of volume and clarity. It's also a great deal as these are not inexpensive guitars when new!
