A classy Martin Dreadnought, and one that not only looks different than most rosewood D models it also sounds different as well. Thanks to the lighter 1/4" top bracing that's standard on D-35s, and the Engelmann spruce top Martin used on these Johnny Cash models, this has an even smoother tone. Like virtually every gloss black instrument that's been played even a little, this one does show some light scuffs to the surface but no cracks or damage of any kind. Thankfully almost all of the pick scuffs are confined to the pickguard. This Limited Edition was first issued in 2006 but production was continued without an announced total production. This was #414, and comes with its original special hardshell case which has spiffy black latches as well as black lining.
