There's something about the combination of Hawaiian koa back and sides with a Western red cedar soundboard that delivers a unique tone, and this big Lowden has oodles of natural reverb with sparkling trebles. It has been played, there's light wear to the frets and some finish wear along the lip of the soundhole next to the inner edge of the transparent pickguard. There are two repaired cracks to the top, one along the outer edge of the lower bout (bass side) and one just inside the waist on the treble side. Not surprising, since red cedar is a bit more fragile than spruce. We supplied a new Hiscox case, as the original was missing when it arrived. It's the same as cases Hiscox made for Lowden back then but without the Lowden logo on the lid.
