Since the late 1990s Fender has been spot-on with their re-issue, relic, and otherwise vintage inspired instruments. In 2004, Fender fans and employees were excited for the prospect of the 50th anniversary version of the original Stratocaster, and the company pulled out all the stops to do it right. This Custom Shop Strat by Yuriy Shishkov is one of those examples, with serial number 4100.
Features include a two-piece ash body with offset glue seam, deep one-piece U-shape maple neck, and nitro-cellulose lacquer finish with careful lacquer checking (the only simulated wear is to the surface of the pickguard, and you have to hold the guitar just so in the light to notice it). Every body contour, pickup and bridge part, and plastics formula is an accurate replica of a '54 Strat, including unique knobs and the original Patent Pending bridge saddles. All the paper work and case candy that came with the guitar is included.
Here's a rare chance to step back in time 13 years and get the 50th Anniversary Strat you missed.
