The Cascade was one of our favorite models back when Gryphon was a Gibson dealer as the combination of maple back and sides with a cedar top produces a unique tone. Warmer than most maple guitars, with great clarity and plenty of bass for a relatively small guitar with a shortish string scale. The quilted maple, abalone rosette and gold tuners dress it up a bit (but not too much) and the cutaway lets you easily enjoy the up-the-neck tone. The Schertler Bluestick pickup does a good job of accurately amplifying its acoustic tone. The only issue are some under-the-finish discoloration to the top along the lower edge of the top, near the binding on the treble side, which you can spot in photos 2 and 8 (this is probably from the glue that was used on the binding when the guitar was made and is just a visual issue). Original hardshell case with Gibson stencil on the lid.
