Archtops built by Dana Bourgeois are rare and we're always happy when we see one show up. This LC4 is a very well-made instrument with highly figured maple back and sides, spruce top, and ebony fittings. The sunburst brings out the beauty of the maple. The other appointments include a bound ebony pickguard and tailpiece, ebony bridge and fingerboard, simple white/black purflings, and tortoise-celluloid bindings. The 17-inch guitar is X-braced and features a cutaway. Bourgeois only built a limited run of 12 LC4 archtops and this example is number 6 of the series. It’s in fine cosmetic and structural condition and it sounds great, with a clear, focused tone. Includes the original hardshell case.
