Fender only produced the Sub-Sonic for a brief period from 1999 to 2000. It’s basically a baritone version of the Stratocaster and after taking it out for a spin, you will discover that this is something entirely different. It is tuned in the same intervals as any normal guitar so you can pick it up and instantly play anything that you play on any other guitar, just a few steps lower. The Sub-Sonic has a hardtail set-up from the factory. (One advantage to this only-the-neck-is-baritone variant of the Strat is that the long-scale neck can be swapped with a standard Strat neck. This means you'd then essentially have a hardtail American Standard Stratocaster with a humbucker in the bridge position, and while the additional neck wouldn't be free this does mean you have another option.) This Sub-Sonic is in nearly perfect condition with only the lightest fret wear, includes original G & G Fender case and owner's manual.
