We’re always happy to get a Dana Bourgeois archtop and this 1999 A-500 is something special. This A-500 is a very well-made instrument with highly figured maple back and sides, spruce top, and ebony fittings. The shaded finish really brings out the beauty of the maple. The other appointments include a bound ebony pickguard, ebony bridge and fingerboard, simple white/black purflings, and ivoroid-celluloid bindings. The 17-inch guitar is X-braced. It’s in fine cosmetic and structural condition and it sounds great, with a clear, focused tone. Includes the original hardshell case.
