Island Koa ukuleles are made by Peter Howlett, an excellent luthier from the UK. This soprano was made in 1997 and it does a good job of capturing the classic Martin style and tone. It has a bright bubbling koa tone that would compete with the best concert size, and win! The previous owner swapped out the original friction pegs for a set of Gotoh geared UPT tuners, a huge plus. Light surface wear to the thin finish, but no cracks anywhere. Comes with the cordura-covered hard foam case shown.
