Ibanez introduced the 7-string Universe series of guitars in1990 and over the next few years the model went through a variety of cosmetic changes. The all-black UV7SBK was only made during 1997 and it’s the simplest of them all. Unlike the earlier models, which sported features like lime green pickups and multi-colored pyramid fretboard inlays, this guitar is black with black parts. How much more black can it be? As Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap might say, “None. None more black.” This particular example has been played quite a bit and it has a number of nicks, dings and scuffs to the finish. The frets do show some wear but they are in good shape and have lots of life left in them. The Floyd Rose-licenced vibrato is in good shape and works well. Overall, this is a great sounding electric seven-string that plays well. Includes a recent vintage TKL hardshell case.
