The F model is one of SCGC's classics, an early design from when the company was just a couple of guys. It was designed for fingerstyle players with a slightly wider fingerboard and less taper as you go up the neck, and the neck is quite consistent in thickness as well. The idea was that chord positions would feel much the same whether played at the second fret or the ninth. Needless to say flatpickers can also enjoy that advantage.
Except for a little fret wear it's hard to believe this Santa Cruz is over 20 years old. There are a few very light little marks to the spruce top but the back, sides, and neck are almost perfect. Everything is original and there are no cracks or signs of any repairs. String action is "factory standard," meaning it's 3/32" for the high E string and 4/32" for the low E (measured at the 12th fret using light gauge strings). This guitar has a very full and balanced tone, with remarkable consistency from one string to another and up and down the fretboard. Hardshell case is the original TKL in very good condition, even has the SCGC card in the string pocket giving directions on how to use the truss rod!
