This C10A has passed its 25th birthday and has a nice combination of light wear, but not too much of it, and enough playing hours to give it that broken-in sound (the Adirondack top helps, of course). The playing hours don't show on the fretboard because it just got a partial refret from Gryphon's repair dept. There are no other repairs, and certainly no cracks, so except for the strap button near the neck heel and the installation of a Fishman Matrix pickup that's it for changes. There are a few light dings to the finish on the top, and a few pick scratches that extend just beyond the edge of the pickguard. The back has only the lightest swirls in the finish from shirt buttons. Since this was made in the mid-1990s the Collings crew was a fraction of the workforce employed there today and the sunburst was almost certainly done by John Allison (it was probably a special order since back then this model was almost always given a 1 11/16" neck). The case shown is the original, this is from before Collings was using the Vintage Series cases from TKL.
