Here's a step-back-in-time Telecaster, all the way back to 1996 when Fender decided to offer 50th Anniversary models to commemorate Leo Fender's first efforts in 1946. You'd have a hard time finding a cleaner example, as apparently this Tele was essentially never played. The rather usual wrinkled texture to the pickguard, for instance, isn't the actual pickguard at all but instead the thin clear plastic film that Fender installed before the guitar was shipped to the dealer. The "50 Years" sticker on the pickguard is equally untouched. Judging by the numbers on the neck plate, this is #1229 of 1250 made. It's hard to find 5 years-old guitars with gold plated metal parts this perfect!
