We sold this new twenty-five years ago and while it got quite a lot of use for several years it's been languishing for awhile and is now back for adoption. Original throughout, nothing's been changed but there is some minor finish wear and the pickguard has a crack at the upper tip, with a small piece of pickguard binding missing down by the bridge. There's some lacquer crazing, and the finish on the fingerboard binding has its share of crinkles. Note the small spot of wear through the reddish color on the neck, but while this spot is down to the base coat it's not down to bare mahogany
For those not familiar with Gibson's L-4 CES models from the '90s, think ES-175 but with a carved spruce top rather than a soundboard of laminated maple like the 175. The carved top gives it a tone closer to an L-5, and despite the humbucker pickup right next to the bridge this L-4 gives a more believable acoustic tone for practicing. Original brown case.
