Here's a serious Guild jazz guitar, from their Westerly RI factory, that's in near perfect condition and is loaded with upgrades. The improvement you'll hear are the highly regarded Kinman humbucking pickups, which offer a sweeter high end tone with less noise/hum than probably just about any pickup out there today. Then there's the Hoffee carbon fiber case, and the Colorado case cover that goes over it. The X-500 itself looks like a typical acoustic/elelctric jazz guitar, but when you look in the f holes you'll see a substantial rectangular sound post under the bridge. The guitar still has an acoustic sound when unplugged but the sound post means it's more quiet. The advantage of the sound post is there's no feedback from the top regardless of what volume you're running through the amp (the net effect is similar to Gibson's ES-335 with the block between the top and back, and like with the 335 this X-500 is heavier than a typical "floating top" archtop.). String action is low and the overall feel is buttery smooth. If you add up the cost of the Kinman pickups (and installation), the Hoffee case, and the case cover, you're getting the "regular" Guild X-500 Natural that's the core of this outfit at an unbelievably low price!
