These Kamaka concert ukuleles are more popular than the "original" ukulele, the soprano, because the longer scale means the frets are a little further apart so chord positions are easier to finger thanks to the extra room on the fretboard. This particular Kamaka HF-2 was made in 1977 and is in fine condition. It has a carved tiki on the headstock, a feature that sometimes appears on 1970s-era Kamakas. There are no cracks but there is small amount of finish separation at the joint where heel meets the neck. Other than that, there are just a very few minor signs of play wear. The previous owner switched out the original plastic friction pegs for new Gotoh planetary tuners, an upgrade that greatly improves the tuning Includes a recent vintage hardshell case.
