Work was begun on this D-18 March 20, 1946 so no matter how you do the math it's an old guitar. Original tuners and pickguard and although some of the original finish is missing what's left is original and nobody has tried to make it look less worn than it is. Recent neck reset and refret.. Original bracing and bridge plate, the cracks in the bass side have been repaired. Yep, this D-18 has been played a LOT,and not always carefully. Despite all the surface wear it's very solid and ready for serious use again. It delivers a huge sound without being flogged, with a strong meaty bass. Great playabiity over the entire fretboard, making it a flatpicker's delight.
