Thanks to an excellent restoration by Renee Karnes, this almost-a-century-old Vega plays as easily as any new tenor, and along with the straight neck and new frets you also get that finger-friendly 21 inch scale. If you look closely you'll see some lines in the lacquer on the back of the headstock, but those are just checks in the dyed hardwood veneer Vega used for their headstock facings (the maple neck itself has no cracks). The lining in the original hardshell case has seen some serious patching but it offers good protection.
