The T1 was for years Ted Thompson's most popular model, and with a size that's bigger than an OM yet with relatively shallow sides like a 000, it delivers a lot of volume when you need it but the treble clarity is in balance with the bass response. While this Thompson has seen some playing time, it's also received careful handling as there are just two dents to the top and no serious scratches or dings anywhere else. As with all Thompson guitars, at least that we've seen, there's no plastic anywhere (except the bridge pins, which could easily be swapped for ebony). The wood binding and purfling is a nice touch, and the thin finish on this example has settled into the pores of the wood giving it a very nice patina. A lovely example of the classic Canadian steel-string guitar design.
