This Eastman MD815V was made in 2009 and it's in excellent structural condition. This mandolin has a varnish finish, which is thinner and lighter than lacquer, and a style that many players feel gives the mandolin a fuller, richer tone than lacquer. The trade off is that varnish is not as strong as lacquer and it scratches more easily. Consequently, this mandolin has a number of nick and dings here and there. The large curl on the headstock was broken at one point and repaired. (See photos #32 and #33.) Still, it's a great sounding mandolin with plenty of punch. Includes a hardshell case.
