A clean, solid Gibson Mastertone tenor, "never dropped, raced, or run-over," in fact it's apparently seen careful handling. All-original except for the significant upgrade to a Richelieu "fingers" tailpiece. There is some loss of its gold plating on the armrest and tension hoop, and there are some nicks and dings to the resonator sides with only light finish wear to the back. The neck shows very little wear, neck is straight and neck angle excellent. Most of the 800 Series Gibson Mastertones seen from this period have a livid red sunburst, which is fine if you like red but this color, which Gibson called Viceroy Brown, is much easier on the eyes and shows the figured maple to advantage. Original hardshell case with Gibson badge just above the handle.
